I have been honoured to serve as your local councillor since 2020. My key aims have been to improve walking and cycling, deliver more affordable housing, and improve our city’s green space.

Here is my manifesto for Limerick City North for the next five years.

HOUSING

New development on Sheep Street

AFFORDABLE HOMES

By bringing affordable living options to the city, we are not just creating homes, we are creating vibrant communities, supporting local businesses, and contributing to the revitalisation and regeneration.

If elected, I will continue my work on:

  • ensuring we adopt diverse housing solutions like affordable homes schemes, cost rental and rightsizing
  • amending the Development Plan to include a target on student housing
  • restoring derelict buildings to bring them to a useful purpose.

SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL, WORK AND PLAY

Our roads are congested, busy and hostile. We need to make walking, cycling and public transport easier options for people of Limerick.

If elected, I will continue my work on:

  • delivering new, safe and connected footpaths and cycle lanes, especially around crèches, schools and colleges
  • collaborating with the council to set up a Last-Mile Delivery Social Enterprise on the Northside to serve the city
  • implementing traffic calming measures and improving street lighting

VIBRANT PUBLIC SPACES AND PARKS

A Green councillor for this area means a strong advocate for developing good quality places for children and young people to play and for people of all ages to meet and socialise.

If elected, I will continue my work on:

  • developing underused green spaces like Mayorstone Quarry
  • securing dedicated funding for Westfields Wetlands
  • securing more community and on-street policing for Limerick

HIGH QUALITY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Everyone in the city should have access to regular, reliable and affordable public transport.

If elected, I will continue my work on:

  • delivering a completely new bus network which will be rolled out on a phased basis, beginning in 2025.
  • ensuring the routes are extended to Ennis Road, Brookville Avenue, North Circular Road, Mill Road and connected to the hospitals and major centres of employment and education
  • promoting new train stations in Moyross, Parkway/Rhebogue, Corbally with a new connection to Shannon Airport
